A Dangerous Business
And here we are. My first Official Post on my Official Blog on my Official Website. We’re really doing it, everyone.
When I was thinking about what to title this post, one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite authors popped into my head.
"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door," he used to say. "You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to." Frodo Baggins, speaking of his uncle, Bilbo Baggins (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - Book I: The Ring Sets Out, Three Is Company)
This quote really speaks to three aspects of my {traveling} life.
1. Safety. Duh.
2. I am blessed in that I travel on behalf of my corporate job, so I often don’t know where I’m going until anywhere from a week to a month before I head out. Talk about not knowing where you might be swept off to! I love the surprises, though.
3. I have no real idea where this blog is going to go. I have some fun thoughts and visions of what might come of it, but really, I’m starting this as a service to people who are like me - traveling for work, fun, or both and just trying to live a more compassionate and healthy life.
As I’m doing this for both you and for me, I’d love it if you’d send me some suggestions about places to visit and check out while I’m adventuring! I’ll add a Contact Me part to the site or DM me on Instagram if you’d rather.
Let’s keep this short so I can get to posting The Good Stuff. ; )
