ATL: We Juice It
Let’s kick off my first official review with one of my favorite places at the Atlanta airport. Hartsfield Jackson has a great little organic juice spot right off the atrium before security. I make it a point to grab my morning juice here whenever I can!
One thing I learned about myself a few weeks ago on a trip to Disney is that I have conditioned my digestive tract to enjoy some juice and fruit in the morning before we go for the heavy stuff like pastries. Great lesson to learn, though, before I head to France later on this year! However, I hear French breakfasts usually consist of a croissant, not the entire bakery like American breakfasts do. I’ll be able to confirm or deny in November.
It’s a great thing, though, to juice - it does wonders for your body. Digestion is such an energy-intensive process that sometimes it’s best to take a break from the heavy stuff and dial it back to juice and fruit. And when I say juice, I’m not talking about Ocean Spray. I mean real, honest to goodness, fresh-pressed 100% juice - bonus points if you make it with organic fruit and veg. Yes, I said veg. Fruit juice is delicious, but if you leave out the kale or carrots every time, you’re not giving your body the nutrients it needs when you juice! Before I get too far down the rabbit hole on the benefits and how-tos of juicing, though, let’s get back to talking about We Juice It…
We Juice It Storefront
We Juice It has two main juices that they’ve got on tap at all times. Green Greatness, my usual, and Hello Hartsfield, the one I’d pick if I wasn’t trying to be conscious about getting my greens in when I juice. You really can’t go wrong with either one! For those of you who are little ‘ehhhh’ when it comes to green juices, rest assured that you can taste more apple than anything in Green Greatness. ; )
Green Greatness: kale, spinach, apple, lemon, cucumber
Hello Hartsfield: mango, pineapple, strawberry, apple, orange
I have to admit, though, I’ve never branched out and had one of their smoothies!! I usually only opt for a smoothie when juice isn’t available, but their smoothie lineup looks delicious. They’ve got some GREAT healthy add-ins for those as well. Anyone ever done a wheatgrass shot?? If not, start with low doses… unless you like to live on the edge and you’re wearing brown underwear.
Oh, yeah, you’re not imagining things, there’s ice cream available there too. Honestly I’d have to stop back by and look if they have any vegan options - if so it would be a sorbet - but I’m fairly certain the answer is no. Maybe in the future though!
How about you? Have you ever stopped by We Juice It? Let me know what you think in the comments!
